It’s early on bank holiday Monday and I was throwing chickpeas around the kitchen in a panic. I was invited by the lovely Steph to a bloggers picnic.
Bloggers Picnic: where people who write online, meet up, sit on a rug and eat food whilst saying words like: wordpress, trending,hashtag…
We have been asked by the organisers Angie and Aftab, to bring food, a bottle of drink and a rug to sit on.
Like a wannabe rock star with an air guitar, my imaginary chef hat was on. After a night of research (looking up pretty pictures on pinterest) I decided to make world breaking Bloody Mary Hummus..whilst destroying the kitchen in the process.
I soaked, cut, blended, added a bit of this, bit of that… and It was made

Now the drink- I wanted a summer cup, Pimm’s is way too predictable now so I was excited to be bringing a long Bronte Liqueur It’s what i would like the call ‘the sophisticated Pimm’s’
Mix it with ginger beer, lime and mint lounge in the sun and behold you got a sophisticated summer cup. For special occasions you can also mix it with bubbles to make a nice fruity twist.
With a proudly-prepared picnic I went to find the bloggers in Green Park
It didn’t long.
My choice of picnic mats made me look like I was making a point to the Australian, American, Asian, neighbours (I wasn’t!) . So I covered my back by announcing “everyone can sit on my flag!” (nervous laugh as I dig a big British hole)
I gazed across the mats to a sea of beautiful food

Don’t get me started on @SheepaMiah‘s cupcakes….
Now my hummus, in the cold light of day, it looked like vomit in a pot.
….
Anyone want a drink?

Vomit in a pot it might have looked, but I loved your hummus. Also embarrassed that there’s documented evidence of me eating from Sheepa’s pot of cheese buns. I’ll never live this down.
Oh I wanted some of that drink but was too shy to ask! Haha! Nice to ‘meet’ you there (I had hoped we would get to speak some more!)
