It was that cloudy but stuffy city day in London and I planned to catch a special bus.
so we walked…
..past these guys
nearly there….
Till….
ALL ABOARD!
This is what London transport should be about.. A retro double decker serving oysters,Bloody Mary’s with some cocktails on the side. Yes this is a bus I was happy to wait for and I’ve been waiting to catch it since  last summer.
However we came thirty minuets too early so had to do a de-tour before it opened.
Next door is part of Southbank’s ‘summer love festival’ which is a small pop up bar that serves things like gin and pop noodles with an interactive exhibition. Needless to say after a few drinks we interacted…
After leaving our message it was time for this bus… A Bloody Dragon was immediately ordered and these babies..
My naughty favourites have to be these:
deep fried oysters with bourbon pickled onion and charcoal mayo. mmmmm….
Now for the Bloody Dragon…
(rating are going to be out of 5 from now on)
Bloody Dragon: soju, thai sweet basil,  garam masala, smoked paprika,  horseradish.
Taste: 5 Such a creative blend of ingredients and work amazing together. They use Soju instead of typical western vodka which is extremely popular in Korea. The fresh basil hint completed it.
Garnishes: 2 no garnishes here but the flavours did all the talking.
sweat test: 4 true to the name it has a good fire!Â
Glass: 3 your average glass, nice size but i suppose the novelty of it being served from a bus makes up for it.
Presentation 4 chopsticks are amazing, love a good theme.
bonus point (1) – great service and awesome settingÂ
Overall: Â 20/25 T. It’s likely to see a bad bloody mary hidden by presentation, however this is a great, quality, unique bloody mary. The fact it comes out of bus gives it a bonus
The bus is around all Summer at Southbank I WILL be back on it again to try another flavour till then…
Check it out.. www.thebloodyoyster.com
Those deep fried oysters look incredible, I’m going to have to swing by. My boyfriend’s never had an oyster so a deep fried one would be a good starting point!
