Dad Lives In A Church and Other Discoveries In Brighton

Note to self: Never ever drive to Brighton, especially on May bank holiday.

It was his idea, I agreed the night before after a couple of gins, some may say I was ‘vulnerable’ when making decision.

So there we were, bank holiday Saturday stuck in traffic, getting barked at by an evil dog..

Three hours later and a few strong words exchanged- we got to our destination.

We are here for two reasons; one to have a nice long weekend with the family. Two; Dad and Pam (Dad’s BAE) told me they had bought a church.

‘Not an actual church’ I thought.

Yes. An actual church.

I felt mixed emotions one this will make an epic Christmas venue, but then again I didn’t know what this meant for me in purgatory

God:  “I know you went to Catholic school but you also got drunk with your Dad in my home”

Anyway after a morning of traffic, monster dogs and churches, It was time for a very craved lunch and some drink!

The Salt Room-

The food was incredible, It was a perfect places for a long lunch and cocktailS but their desert won the show both in taste

and entertainment.

Now time to explore what Brighton has to offer… starting with a barber who sings from his shop…

I wanted to achieve the  classic couple goal and walk home with a giant teddy that was won by Chris..

It was the standard  tin cans and ball game,  hit them all, win a prize…

Maybe he was nervous, maybe I put too much pressure on the guy-

either way he massively failed.

So we moved on to ticket winning machines- we were good at that.

Sunday session began at Tempest  with a bloody mary of course….

Sweat test- 5/5 I was presented with a great bloody filled with horseradish, then was shown a tray of spice so I could create my flavour- Love it!

Taste: 4/5 good strong  fresh bloody

Garnish: 3/5 Nice bit of celery and lemon but that was the limit

Glass 5/5 I love jars- great size!

Presentation 3/5 Horseradish makes it look something special, looked refreshing but maybe something extra would have done the trick.

Bonus point 1/5 – served to me by a hungover bartender overlooking the sea.

Overall- 21/25 Love having a DIY angle, great jar, lovely way to start a Sunday.

Now for lunch  number two- Riddle & Finns
