I can’t believe I am saying this, but it’s come to the end of the line for London and I. After six years in England’s Capital, I have decided it’s time to move on and now have relocated to Brisbane.
But before the new chapter begins, here is my round up of London in the format of FAQ:
Where shall I eat?
Duck & Waffle, the city (for the view and alternative food)
Langan’s, mayfair (for tradition & people watching)
Hawksmoor, seven dials (for steak!)
The Swan, Southbank (for a pub lunch)
Where shall I drink?
Seven, Brixton (for cocktails)
No 32, Clapham (for friend meet ups)
Cahoots, Soho (for something different)
WC, Clapham (for dates)
What Shall I do?
Walk! (best route- Big Ben, Southbank, Borough Market, Tower Bridge, Tower of London) I did this from Vauxhall very early one Sunday morning, not a person in sight, it was pretty memorable.
Brixton Villlage and Brixton Pop is such a good way to spend a Saturday
Hyde park in the autumn feels pretty special, Boris bike it, with a picnic.
Learn and make your own gin at Portobello Road
Learn how to make cocktails in Old Street, Mixology Events.
Get drunk on rose and practise yoga next to Wellington Arch for a good two hours
And finally…Where is the best bloody Mary?
Ben’s Canteen, St John’s HillThe Ship,Wandsworth
The Swan, Southbank.
Dirty Bones, South Kensington/Soho
DIY (with some help of Ben)
Thanks to a genius named Ben, there is a now a pre-made mixture, so garnish it how you like, put in as much vodka as required and make the bloody that suits you…that’s always going to be the best one after all.
Don’t worry That Bloody Mary is not going anyway…after all there’s a whole country filled with Bloody Marys here in Oz, so there will be more reviews coming here soon.
However I will be documenting my Brisbane life on another blog – www.brisbanediaries.com so make sure you catch up with that when you can 🙂
Thanks everyone xx
